John B. Watson (jan 1, 1900 – jan 1, 1950)

Description:

An additional paradigm shift occurs as John B. Watson opposes certain components of functionalism by explaining that self analysis is not sensible due to the differences in experiences amongst beings. Watson establishes the concept of behaviorism based on these ideas, and dominates the field of psychology with observations to conclude widespread theories. Through conducting experiments and trials, Watson played a critical role in the development of psychology being recognized as a scientific discipline. He deduced that psychology should be proved and measured rather than approached with subjective ideas such as introspection.
