Description:
Some of the first Cubans to leave were the wealthiest professionals and affiliates with the Batista regime fearing reparations from the government and that it would soon be overthrown again. During this time an estimated 200,000 Cubans migrated to the U.S. before air flights finally were suspended.Library of Congress. (n.d.).
