The Cuban revolution began with Fidel Castro desperate to challenge Batista's dictatorship but starting with an unsuccessful raid but with continued raids and increased Cuban resistance to Batista's dictatorships rebel forces began taking provinces and ammunition shortages eventually cause Batista to flee and be an exile in Portugal.
