Description:
U.S. involvement played a crucial role in ending World War I and reshaping the global order. The war began after the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand of Austria and lasted until 1918. It was fought between the Central Powers consisting of Germany, Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria, and the Ottoman Empire, against the Allied Powers consisting of Great Britain, France, Russia, Italy, Romania, Canada, Japan, and the United States.
