Height of Land Speculation (jan 1, 1870 – jan 1, 1890)
Description:
This is the time period where the practice of buying up land, extracting resources, and selling was at its highest. This increase in land speculations would lead to encroachment on the communal Mexican land grants which would eventually would lead to the privatization of these lands.
