The Maurian Civil War (may 4, 1788 – dec 13, 1791)

Description:

Maurian Republicans vs Maurian monarchists
The Republicans wanted a democratic Maurian state instead of a corrupt monarchial state. The war was a violent and bloody war that had very little gain of territory for either side. It wasn't until the Seige of Tsanfa when the Republicans began to gain traction. After Tsanfa fell, the war quickly sped up and clashes between the two sides became more and more violent. More urban combat occurred in the later stages of the war which put a detrimental affect on the outcome of the conflict.
Republican victory
The Kingdom of Mauria is changed into the Maurian Confederation with a governing parliament and leading President.
When the peace talks were happening, the King of Mauria and his family tried to flee the country. However, only his wife and youngest daughter were able to escape to Oliumpiush where they would spend the rest of their lives in exile. The King and the rest of his family (2 sons, 4 daughters, and his brother) were either imprisoned in Mepamavye or executed. The king himself was executed in a public display of power and his sons were hung from the Palace of Svalors in Sadon.
