Description:

Alexander the Great reached India in the summer of 327 BC. He had conquered the Achaemenid Persian Empire and was looking for new lands to conquer. He crossed the Indus River and entered the Punjab region of India. He defeated the Indian king Porus at the Battle of the Hydaspes River and then marched as far as the Beas River. However, his troops refused to go any further, so he turned back and marched back to Babylon.
