Okay so this part didn't save so I redid it and then it didn't save again and I redid it in a little summary and then it didn't save AGAIN so this is gonna be super short because I'm annoyed and just don't have the energy:

The Parthians descended from nomads in Iran and claimed to be more Persian than the Seleucids, who were basically second-generation Macedonians.
They put themselves out there as descendants from the Achaemenids. They made a considerable effort to seem as Persian as possible. They established an admin system that was very very similar to the Achaemenid one, except that the Satraps were actually clan leaders and were much more independent, while the imperial government was much less centralized.
They also followed Zoroastrian beliefs and rituals but didn't go as far as openly promoting it. They did use it to their advantage.
Since everyone hated the Seleucids they were very okay with the Parthians, who gradually gained power and significance until they replaced the Seleucids completely.
