Battle of Málaga (jul 7, 1861 – jul 24, 1861)
Description:
The Portuguese had advanced to the south of Spain. When reaching the city of Málaga the Portuguese troops were met with great force. The Spanish had used Málaga as a major fort since the 18th century and the Portuguese hoped that the capture of this fort could be used as momentum for their swing into Madrid.
