Saddam Hussein, president of Iraq, was captured by United States forces (mar 1, 2003 – dec 1, 2003)

Description:

At the time, Iraq faced allegations of illegal oil sales and weapon building. This in turn caused the U.S. to invade the country in March 2003. During this time, however Saddam Hussein went into hiding for 9 whole months. On December 13th, U.S. soldiers found him in hiding underground and he was arrested without resist. This mission is now known as Operation Red Dawn and has even been made into a movie.
