The Vietnam War was a disastrous endeavor of imperialism in U.S. History. The war was between Communist-aligned People's Liberation Front (North) and Democratically-aligned Republic of Vietnam (South). The war lasted for 20 brutal years and killed many Americans and many more vietnamese. The war was a catastrophic failure for the U.S., and proved to the world that the imperial war machine could be beaten.
