John Locke (jan 1, 1632 – jan 1, 1704)

Description:

John Locke was a wealthy English philosopher that was best known for his high influence and creation of many popular phrases including "Life, liberty, and property". This phrase in particular represented Locke's idea that all people had natural rights that nobody could take away from them; such as voting access. He also came up with the Social Contract, which was an agreement between citizens and government. The citizens would place their trust in and give power to government in return for the oath to protect their rights.
