- Iron was very common - replaced bronze
- Iron farming tools reverse the decline in food productoin
- Writing
- In 8th century BCE, Greeks adopt the Phoenecian alphabet
- cause Greeks to write faster and easier
- End of Dark Age
- Slowly recovered and established trade
- Populations grew, and so did communities
