Thomas Hobbes (jan 1, 1588 – jan 1, 1679)
Description:
Thomas Hobbes was an English man who had many strong beliefs, including the use of logic and reasoning to evidence theories. He witnessed two civil wars in England and theorized that the natural state of humans was chaos and greed. He came to the conclusion that leaving humans to lead themselves would only give them the opportunity to destroy civilization as we know it. His goal was to convince citizens into putting their complete trust in him by promising to protect them.
