Description:

Japan entered WWI hoping to become recognized as a global power. Japan issued the Twenty One Demands of China in 1915, which led to condemnation. The treaty that was signed had little benefit for Japan. After the war, Japan became an industrial and military power that was accepted by the League of Nations. Foreign relations with the US were still strained and the Japanese could no longer immigrate to America. Japan also demanded Germany remove its submarines from the Sea of Japan.
