Description:
After Meiji’s death the Crown Prince Yoshihito, posthumously named Emperor Taisho, became emperor. A shift in power from the the Emperor to elders called the genro became known as the “Taisho Democracy”. The Meiji Period left the country in debt after industrialization.Added to timeline:
