While flying a small plane, a businessman and civilian pilot saw 9 objects moving very fast over Mount Rainier. Due to increasing popularity and other similar sighting the government created Project Sign, then renamed it Project Grudge and then Project Blue Book. During that period of Cold War anxiety, 12,618 incidents were reported. Of the 12,618, only 701 remain "unidentified."Added to timeline:
