Thomas Jefferson (jan 1, 1743 – jan 1, 1826)
Description:
Jefferson was an Enlightenment thinker who was the 3rd president of the United States and wrote a part of the declaration. Jefferson was also the owner of a part of a plantation, which meant that he owned slaves, but he still vouched against slavery and helped slaves escape slavery. He was majorly influenced by Locke, Montesquieu, and Paine.
