Description:
Beccaria was a wealthy Italian man who focused on the rights of the accused. He studied law and was considered an economist, politician, and philosopher. He wrote a book called "On Crimes and Punishments" and in the book, he stated that the punishment should fit the crime and that the death penalty should be removed.
