Jean-Jacques Rousseau (jan 1, 1712 – jan 1, 1778)

Description:

Jean-Jacques Rousseau was a well-educated man who became a writer. He grew up in Switzerland, but was originally from France. He wrote The Social Contract in 1762 about how the government's responsibility is to uphold the will of people. This was basically the introduction of the "majority rules" idea. Rousseau also believed that every human is good, until society corrupts them. This basically means that everyone is a good human being, until the world makes them bad.
