Voltaire (jan 1, 1694 – jan 1, 1778)

Description:

Voltaire was a French man who studied law but had a passion for philosophy. When he quit his job after finding a loophole in the lottery, he focussed on philosophy and writing and created the idea of freedom of religion and freedom of speech. He also wrote a book called Candide about persevering through hardship and was arrested multiple times for mocking the King before running away to England.
