Thomas Hobbes (jan 1, 1588 – jan 1, 1679)

Description:

Thomas Hobbes believed in a form of thinking known as absolutism, where the leader has absolute power and authority, going unquestioned, much like the Divine Right of Kings without god in the equation. Thomas Hobbes' ideas first came from experiencing first hand what happens with/without kings. Knowing that the kingdom is more civil without a king and wars breakout without one, he believed that leaders were required to help things run smoothly. In addition, the difference from absolutism and dictatorship is in absolutism, the leader serves the people, on the other hand, in dictatorship, the people serve the leader.
