Description:
Eight-year period which saw the first major outbreak of plague in the Old World, affecting Europe, the Middle-East, and the Mediterranean. It seriously affected the Byzantine Empire and Sassanian Empire in particular. Justinian himself was infected and was almost taken by the disease, but he miraculously recovered.Added to timeline:
