Yuan Dynasty (jan 1, 1279 – jan 1, 1368)
Description:
Founded under the rule of Mongol ruler Kublai Khan (grandfather of Genghis Khan), the Yuan Dynasty ruled over China and Mongolia. Under the Yuan Dynasty, the capital city of Beijing was constructed. The Yuan also adopted many chinese traditions and customs but made many reforms. The government was also made a monarchy and more efficient. This period saw lots of cultural diversity and innovation in science.
