Latin American Revolutions (jan 1, 1806 – jan 1, 1826)

Description:

In this time period, many Latin American nations sought their freedom from Spain, France, and other European colonizers. The leaders of these revolutions were often creole elites. The revolutions sought equal societies, but often created corrupt states run by dictators. Simon Bolivar was a leader of many Latin American revolutions, and sought to create a unified south american state (gran Colombia), but never fully succeeded.
