Delhi Sultanate (jan 1, 1200 – jan 1, 1500)
Description:
- North India- Controlled by Muslim Turks
- Had a hard time converting Hindu Indians to Islam
- Not centralized so vulnerable to attacks
- Formed through fall of two invader states
- Lower class Hindus sometimes convert to Islam to escape caste system
- Never forms beauracracy
- Never spread south B/C preoccupied with Mongol invasions, though survived and outlasted Mongols
