Robert Dudley was one of Elizabeth's most trusted advisors until he died. However, there were many rumours that he was a potential suitor to Elizabeth, which meant that when his wife died there were rumours of a murder scandal. After this, Elizabeth became less close to him, although he did still help to advise her sometimes.
