Description:
Throughout the late 1900s, equality movements for Natives Americans, lgbtq+ members, and Latinos were created.
- Cesar Chavez- advocate for Latinos, wanted equal pay
-American Indian Movement: 1968 founded. Goal was to get self-determination, address systemic poverty, get back traditions.
- Self Determination Act 1975) gave natives much more control over their land, education, and law enforcement.
-Gay Liberation Movement; 1969 Police raided Stonewall Inn bc of anti-gay laws, the people there resisted which led to more organized protests.
- 1970s) gradual overturning of anti-gay laws and recognition that it was not a mental illness.
