Korean War (may 31, 1950 – jul 3, 1953)
Description:
After WW2, Korean was divided along the 38th parallel; soviets in north, US in south.
1949; both powers withdrew, but the north stayed communist and the south stayed democratic.
1950; the north invaded the south: this became a proxy war for US and Soviet union. Truman sent troops. It was a back and forth. Ends back where it started.
