King Philip's War (jan 1, 1675 – jan 1, 1678)

Description:

Metacoment (leader of the Wampanoag tribe - in RI) and his people were surrounded by white settlements and colonists attempting to convert natives. He led attacks on several settlements in retaliation for their intrusion (missionary works) on Wampanoag territory. Metacomet formed an alliance with 2 other tribes. Alliance destroyed many English settlements but eventually ran out of food and ammunition. Metacomet died and the native american fight fell. Many natives were then turned into slaves for colonists.
