Description:
Three marches were held along the 54 mile highway from Selma to Montgomery. The marches were met with heavy violence from local police and white supremacy groups. Federal troops were ordered to protect them, and under this escort, the world were inspired as thousands of civl rights workers achieved their goal of walking three days and nights, 72 hours, for their rights.
