The Great Schism (jan 1, 1378 – apr 16, 1417)
Description:
The Church suffered the first jolt in 1054 when it was divided in Eastern and Western Christian Church. The Eastern Orthodox Church believed that the Western Roman Catholic Church was corrupt. The Western Christendom suffered much bigger jolt during 1378 to 1417 when there were three contestants for the Papacy.
