Fought in Egypt, Arabia and Elam, patron of art and literature, constructed the Library of Ashurbanipal.
Created the largest library in history until the foundation of the Library of Alexandria, Ashurbanipal was a major leader in cultural efforts in Mesopotamia, and managed to hold together the slowly collapsing empire. However, Ashurbanipal was highly brutal, massacring civilians and committing genocide in Elam.
