Description:

The linking of Northern industry w/ western and southern farms which was created by advances in argiculture, industry, communication, and transportation. (Ex. trains, steamboats, canal, etc allowed for more interconnection between industries).

- It led to more people moving to cities.
- More women started working in factories.
- More Unions formed
- The middle class grew
- More immigration (mostly Irish or German)
