Zoltan Kodaly (Hungary) (jan 1, 1882 – jan 1, 1967)

Description:

Kodaly received instruction from his father, an amateur violinist, and his mother, a singer and pianist. He was very interested in folk songs throughout his education, and published collections in the 1900s, and became well known for his educational initiatives that created music education courses in the Hungarian school system. He composed 20 choral works with instrumental accompaniment and 150 a cappella pieces.
