pop art (jan 1, 1953 – jan 1, 1954)
Description:
Beginning in the middle of the 1950s and continuing into the 1960s in both the UK and the US was the pop art movement. This historical period was marked by a concentration on popular culture and media images. One of the primary characteristics of Pop art was the use of the human figure, which was usually depicted in an extremely stylised and simplified way. In an effort to explore the relationship between art and popular culture, pop artists regularly included images of celebrities, advertisements, and consumer items in their works. In order to better understand how modern culture affected our perception of perfection and the admired human structure, they used the human body.
