The New Deal (jan 1, 1933 – jan 1, 1939)
Description:
The New Deal was a series of programs, public work projects, financial reforms, and regulations enacted by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in the United States between 1933 and 1939. First, it addressed the unemployed. A Federal Emergency Relief Administration provided direct assistance to the states, to pass it on to those out of work. The next winter, a work-relief program provided jobs in the brief period it existed.
