Korean War (jun 25, 1950 – jul 27, 1953)
Description:
US and Soviets fight a proxy war, defending ideologies of communism vs democracy. North and South governments split along 38th parallel. North = communist, South = democrat. North supported by Soviets and later China, South by US. Eventually the war ends at the same area. Eisenhower justified this war as a form of containment. Armistice signed in 1953.
