Freedom Rides (may 4, 1961 – dec 10, 1961)
Description:
Freedom riders were a group of civil rights activists, both black and white, that would ride buses into segregated areas of the south. The main goal of these riders was to challenge segregated busses and bus terminals in the highly segregated south. While riding they experience lots of violence.
