Amish men brought measles with them when they returned to Holmes County, Ohio from a mission trip to the Philippines, which had a massive outbreak at the time. The majority of people in the community were not vaccinated. 382 members of the Amish community were infected, while none died nine had to be hospitalized.Added to timeline:
