Prester John Legends (jan 1, 1200 – jan 1, 1700)
Description:
From the 12th to the 17th century legends of Prester John were popular. He was a mythical Christian monarch whose kingdom was cut off from Europe by Muslim conquests. Chinggis Khan was originally believed to be Prester John. That a legend such as this could have been so widely believed shows just how isolated from the rest of the world Europe was at the time.
