Description:
Tula, the capital, was established in 969. The Toltecs built upon the accomplishments of their predecessors. They had a strong military ethic that included human sacrifice. War was often portrayed in Toltec art. The Toltecs influenced the Aztecs and but were influenced by the Mayans. The Toltec empire covered most of central and had a lot of influence on the surrounding area. The Aztecs adopted the Toltec religion.Added to timeline:
