Description:
Under the Abbasid caliphate spread even further, becoming a universal religion. The Abbasids built a flourishing Islamic civilization. Baghdad was the capital. Dhows, Arab sailing vessels, strongly influenced European ship designs. Although the Abbasid did many things well, the problem of succession, however, was not solved.
