Greensboro sit ins (feb 1, 1960 – jul 25, 1960)
Description:
after being denied service a group of young African Americans demonstrated sit-in in segregated Woolworth’s lunch counter in Greensboro, North Carolina and refused to leave. the sit-ins spread to other collage towns. many students were arrested for disturbing the peace, trespassing, or disorderly conduct. these sit ins had a lasting impact and caused establishments to change their segregation rules.
