Albany Movement/Failure (nov 17, 1961 – aug 10, 1962)
Description:
The Albany Movement intended to end all forms of racial segregation in the city, but it initially focused on desegregating travel facilities. Almost all of Albany’s public facilities remained segregated after King’s departure, making the Albany Movement one of the few failures among the 1960s civil rights campaigns.
