Spanish American War (apr 21, 1898 – dec 10, 1898)
Description:
The Spanish-American War was an 1898 conflict between the United States and Spain that ended Spanish colonial rule in the Americas and resulted in U.S. acquisition of territories in the western Pacific and Latin America. U.S. victory in the war produced a peace treaty that compelled the Spanish to relinquish claims on Cuba, and to cede sovereignty over Guam, Puerto Rico, and the Philippines to the United States. The United States also annexed the independent state of Hawaii during the conflict.
Just like in WWI, the nation fighting for independence kept trying to revolt but without America's help and supplies, they were not able to defeat the enemy because they were not strong enough.
