Cultural Revolution (jul 29, 1966 – sep 22, 1976)

Description:

A chaotic mass movement in the People's Republic of China. Mao Zedong launched it in 1966, claiming that elitists were undermining the government and Chinese society. It undermined Chiang Kai-shek's nationalist, non-Communist government and turned China Communist, scaring the Western powers and giving the Soviet Union more influence.
