Period 7:Civil War and reconstruction(1860-1877) (may 24, 1860 – may 24, 1877)

Description:

Although the Reconstruction era brought awarness to the inequalitys in societys especially against women and African Americans, it didn't change hate groups of the south or racist whites that didn't want the equality of African Americans. In this era slavery was abolished, and African Americans were finally considered free people, but there were still many laws that restricted them from getting proper jobs and become any type of succesfull.
