MLK in Birmingham Jail (apr 12, 1963 – apr 19, 1963)

Description:

Martin Luther King and Ralph Abernathy were arrested by Eugene "Bull" Connor, for protesting without a permit. MLK spent a few days in the jail. While he was sitting in his cell, he penned the historic "Letter from Birmingham". In the letter, it defends the strategy of nonviolent resistance to racism. After being called an outsider, in his letter, he responds with, "injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere".
