King Rehoboam's reign (jan 1, 932 BC – jan 1, 915 BC)
Description:
Rehoboam was Solomon's son. He reigned for 17 years.
He was evil because he did not try to seek God and during his reign, Judah served idols. He also took advice from the young men he grew up with instead of from the wise older men.
"So King Rehoboam grew strong in Jerusalem and reigned... And he did evil, for he did not set his heart to seek the Lord." (2 Chronicles 12:13-14)
"And Judah did what was evil in the sight of the Lord... For they also built for themselves high places and pillars and Asherim on every high hill and under every green tree... They did according to all the abominations of the nations that the Lord drove out before the people of Israel." (1 Kings 14:22-24)
a. During Rehoboam's reign, right after the kingdom split, all the priests and Levites that were in Israel came into Judah because of Israel's idol worship and for a couple years, Judah served God.
